Tony Jacob

Tony Jacob is the Head of Insurance for OpenAI. Tony and his team work to help insurers make AI broadly available across their businesses, with frontier intelligence they can deploy with confidence. Tony joined OpenAI in 2026 from AWS, where he served as the insurance sales leader for the US Southeast & Mid-Atlantic, and the global head of insurance business development. In both roles, Tony and his teams worked with insurance customers to help transform their data centers, and drive innovation through the use of cloud-native technologies. 

Prior to working at AWS, Tony was the managing director of Microsoft’s worldwide insurance industry team, and also led the team's efforts working with insurance core systems providers. Before working in the software industry, Tony worked in the aerospace industry, including serving as an on-air commentator for NASA television during coverage of three space shuttle science missions.

Tony also is a limited partner in Mendoza Ventures, an early growth venture fund that invests in AI, cyber security, and fintech, with diversity playing an important role in investment decisions.
