Terry Buechner
Terry Buechner is the Principal Insurance Specialist and Global Core Systems Lead at Amazon Web Services (AWS), where he is a key voice on the modernization of the insurance industry. At AWS, he helps insurance companies leverage cloud technology to innovate and transform their operations, from core systems to data analytics.
A frequent speaker at industry events, Terry often discusses how insurers can move beyond rigid legacy infrastructures to adopt more agile, cloud-native platforms. He highlights the importance of data accessibility and advanced analytics in gaining a competitive edge, enabling insurers to better price risk, create new products, and improve customer engagement.
He is also a vocal advocate for the practical application of new technologies like Generative AI to revolutionize document-heavy processes in claims and underwriting.
Prior to joining AWS, Terry held leadership roles at Majesco and spent over 12 years with IBM's insurance consulting practice, where he led large business transformation engagements in North America, Japan, and Latin America.
