Sofia joined Prudential Seguros Mexico in January 2025 as President and Chief Executive Officer.

With more than 33 years of experience in the Insurance industry, prior to joining Prudential Seguros Mexico, she served at MetLife as Senior Vice President in Latin America. Previously, she held the positions of Chief Executive Office, Vice President of Marketing and Senior Vice President of Business Development and Distribution for Mexico, where she was responsible for driving the company's diversification and growth in new market segments, including private and alternative channels.

Sofía chaired and was a member of the Board of Directors of MetLife Mexico, MetLife Mexico Pensions, MetLife Más and Fundación MetLife México and UNITEC.

From May 2020 to April 2022, she was President of the Asociación Mexicana de Instituciones de Seguros (AMIS), the first woman to lead the organization in its 80-year history. In this role, she participated in the Executive Committee of the Mexican Business Coordinating Council (CCE), also being the first woman in history with the right to vote on this commission.

From 1991 to 2010, she collaborated with Grupo Nacional Provincial (GNP) in which he held relevant positions in distribution, product development, marketing, business intelligence and led the definition, implementation and development of the company's Customer Relationship Management strategy.

Previously, she was a professor at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), in the Faculty of Sciences.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science from UNAM and a master’s degree in Business Administration from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM).

Sofia has completed extended studies in Marketing, Digital Marketing and Human Development, obtaining Manage-Mentor diplomas at Harvard University, CRM at Duke University's Fuqua School of Business, IT for non-IT executives at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and other diplomas at ITAM and UNAM.
