Ryan is the Executive Vice President and a Board Director of Atlanta Life Insurance Company, overseeing the company's strategy and operations. Previously, he was Senior Vice President and Chief of Staff at EquiTrust Life Insurance Company, leading innovation, strategy, and corporate development. Before that, he was the Director of Investments at Magic Johnson Enterprises, where he established and managed the Venture Capital practice along with his role as an Investor in the Private Equity practice, which included co-leading the acquisition of EquiTrust.

Before joining Magic Johnson Enterprises, Ryan was an Investor at Bronze Investments, an early-stage venture capital firm. He was also a founding team member of IMB Development Corporation, a private equity firm focused on building large-scale, minority-owned businesses. Ryan began his career in investment banking at Morgan Stanley, working on over $20 billion of capital markets transactions. 

In addition to his private sector activities, Ryan co-founded a not-for-profit organization in his hometown of Chicago called Restoring Our Character (ROC). ROC focuses on introducing inner-city young males to various experiences, skills, and opportunities that breed success and enable them to break the cycle of poverty.

He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Howard University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and earned his M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
