Paul Virtell

Paul Virtell serves as President of Supplemental Health Solutions at Cigna Healthcare, where he is responsible for the strategic direction, operating performance, and growth of the company’s supplemental health business. In this role, he leads a portfolio of solutions designed to help customers manage out-of-pocket medical expenses associated with serious illness or accidental injury, advancing Cigna Healthcare’s mission to improve the health and vitality of those it serves.

Paul has more than 25 years of product management and leadership experience across the insurance and financial services sectors. Prior to joining Cigna Healthcare, he served as Vice President and Chief Product Owner at Prudential Financial, where he led the launch of supplemental health products and drove enterprise-wide transformation initiatives. His work included implementing modern technology and process solutions across operations, billing, and claims, resulting in improved customer experience, increased efficiency, and enhanced operational performance.

Known for his ability to lead complex organizations and deliver value-driven innovation, Paul has a track record of executing large-scale transformation efforts – securing strategic investments, modernizing core platforms, and introducing digital capabilities that improve customer experience and client satisfaction. At Cigna Healthcare, Paul is focused on creating new product, experience and claim integrations across the medical and supplemental health businesses to deliver unique, customer-centric solutions that capitalize on the synergies between these products.

Paul holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Centenary University and is based in New Jersey.
