Michael Estep is president of Prudential Group Insurance, a business unit of Prudential Financial, Inc., which manufactures and distributes a full range of group life, long-term and short-term disability, voluntary, and corporate and trust-owned life insurance in the U.S.

Since joining Prudential in 2022 as head of Product & Underwriting for Group Insurance, Estep has led all aspects of product strategy, including the development of a strategic roadmap for Group’s current and future product portfolio with a focus on customer relevancy and sustainable, profitable growth. He became president of the Group Insurance business in March 2024.

In addition, Estep serves as the executive sponsor for the VETNET business resource affinity group at Prudential.

Prior to joining Prudential, Estep served in numerous senior leadership roles in the group and voluntary benefits marketplace. Previously, he led product at Guardian Life Insurance. There he was accountable for the P&L, product development, enrollment, and strategy and execution.

Estep earned his MBA from DePaul University and a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management from the University of Wisconsin, Parkside.
