Max Drucker

CEO, Carpe Data

For more than two decades, Carpe CEO Max Drucker has led innovation for the insurance industry as a data and AI visionary.  Today, Max is at the frontier of applied AI, leading Carpe's transformation into one of the industry's first truly AI-native companies — reimagining every function of the organization, from claims intelligence to underwriting insight, around autonomous, agentic AI systems he helps architect himself. The company's recent rebrand from Carpe Data to Carpe reflects Max's conviction that AI is not a feature but a foundation — and his rare ability, as a builder-CEO, to translate that vision directly into working technology.

Max's track record of firsts runs deep. In 1998 he served as CIO and co-founder of eCoverage, the nation's first online auto insurance company. He went on to found Steel Card, one of the world's first InsurTech companies, which was acquired by ChoicePoint in 2006 and is now part of LexisNexis — earning him recognition from Insurance & Technology Magazine as one of the Top 10 Innovators of the Decade. He launched Carpe in 2016, and the company secured a majority investment from Thomas H. Lee Partners in 2022.

Today, Carpe is more than a data company — it is a software, systems, and AI company that delivers decisions, not just feeds. Its intelligence engines, trained on a decade of insurance data and tracked outcomes, power reasoning tools for underwriters, AI-driven claims workspaces, and continuous, living risk assessment — helping carriers around the globe make faster, more confident, more defensible decisions at every stage of the insurance life cycle, from quote to claim closure.
