Mark Bailie

Mark joined Compare the Market in September 2020 as Group Chief Executive. 

He has extensive experience in developing digital strategies for consumer‑facing businesses, alongside strong operational and regulatory expertise, including serving on the UK's FCA Open Finance Advisory Panel. He is highly experienced in both regulated and private equity‑owned environments, with a strong track record in consumer‑, people‑ and brand‑led leadership. 

Immediately prior to joining the Group, Mark was seconded from RBS to the Government’s NHS Test and Trace programme. Before this, he spent ten years at RBS in a number of senior roles, including CEO of Bó, Chief Operating Officer and CEO of Capital Resolution. 

Earlier in his career, Mark was Head of Barclays Capital’s Principal Investments unit, leading transactions across the UK, US and South Africa, having joined from RBS Equity Finance where he led investments including Canary Wharf and Towergate. 

In 2024, Mark was appointed to the Board of NHS England as a Non‑Executive Director and chairs the Digital, Data and Technology Committee. He holds a degree in Economics from the University of Manchester.
