Juan García

CEO & Co-Founder, Tuio

Juan García is co-founder and Co-CEO of Tuio, Spain's 100% digital, AI-native insurer, built from the ground up with artificial intelligence at its core. Tuio's ecosystem of AI agents - including Leia, Watson, Lisbeth, Sonia, and George - now automates over 80% of customer interactions and 85% of simple claims.

In 2026, Tuio launched the first insurance app inside ChatGPT, and around 20% of its new customers already arrive through LLMs - an early signal of how AI is reshaping insurance distribution.

That momentum recently attracted a strategic investment from MAPFRE, one of the largest insurers in Europe and Latin America, adding to the previous round Tuio closed in 2024 backed by investors including BlackRock and MassMutual Ventures.

Juan oversees Tuio's brand, growth, and product strategy, blending design thinking with operational rigor to create a customer experience that feels more like modern software than traditional insurance. Before founding Tuio, he spent 20 years helping companies scale at the intersection of technology and finance - including leadership roles at Monitor Deloitte and global experience in affinity insurance distribution (e.g., Orange Seguros).

In early 2021, alongside fellow co-founders José María Lucas and Asís Pardo, Juan helped launch Tuio from its earliest phase - from conception in a garage to market launch just months later. The vision: an insurer designed for the digital era, not a legacy insurer digitized.

Tuio's model is built on three pillars: 1) products designed for digital-native customers (clear policies, subscription-style terms, self-service); 2) technology and automation as core operations, with AI handling everything from underwriting to chats and claims; and 3) a socially-aware business model, with transparency, accessible language and customer alignment built into the value proposition.

A telecommunications engineer and La Caixa Fellow, Juan holds an MBA from London Business School and CEIBS.
