Juan Camilo González co-founded and now leads Figuro.la, a startup transforming how insurers and insurance intermediaries across Latin America prospect, advise, and manage policies. Figuro is backed by programs such as Start-Up Chile, ODX (United States), Parallel18 (Puerto Rico), and Latitud (Brazil), and has been recognized as Best Technology Enabler in LATAM by the Pan-American Insurtech Alliance, as well as one of the 100 most promising startups in Colombia and Mexico by both Colombia Tech Week and ProNetwork.
His work focuses on one concrete goal: turning traditional insurance agents into hybrid digital sellers, using data, automation, and experience design to improve results without losing the human side of advice. Before Figuro, Juan Camilo founded a fintech backed by Y Combinator and 500 Startups, where he developed financial education programs that helped more than 100,000 people in 18 countries improve their financial well-being.
He has advised leading Colombian insurers on profitable growth, digital strategy, and financial education programs, and contributed to the design of the country’s national financial education strategy. He has been recognized as a LinkedIn Top Voice in insurance innovation, named Best CEO of a distribution insurtech startup by Fintech Americas 2025, and included among the Top 100 Insurtech Creators. He has also taught at Universidad Externado de Colombia, UCL’s Summer School in Colombia, and the Barcelona School of Management (UPF).
