Dr. Johannes Becher is Founder & CEO of Embea, a Berlin-based MGA unbundling life and health insurance into single-risk products. Embea sells standalone cancer cover in Germany through a cross-border MGA partnership with Triglav, Slovenia's largest insurer, and is expanding into additional European markets.

Johannes previously co-founded Getsurance, one of Europe's first D2C digital life insurance startups, which he exited to Nürnberger Versicherung in 2021. Before founding Getsurance, he was Director of Global Venture Development at Rocket Internet, where he launched startups across multiple markets, and Head of Business Development at Lendico, the peer-to-peer lending platform later acquired by ING.

He holds a PhD in Law & Economics from Bucerius Law School and an MLB from Bucerius/WHU. He has spent over a decade building digital products in financial services and works hands-on across the full insurance stack — from risk selection, underwriting, and pricing to digital distribution and the data and AI tooling reshaping how life and health risk gets assessed today.
