Jay Bell is COO and Head of Business Transformation for Zurich North America’s US Construction Group. He brings over 20 years of experience spanning underwriting, operations, and claims, with a career‑long focus on improving underwriting outcomes through disciplined execution, scalable operating models, and strong cross‑functional collaboration.

Before joining Zurich, Jay co‑founded a new Construction division at Great American and previously led The Hartford’s Middle and Large Commercial Programs group. He is a Six Sigma Black Belt and has built his career in high‑accountability environments where governance, execution, and measurable improvement matter.

Since joining Zurich in March 2024, Jay has played a central role in shaping the organization’s approach to AI adoption, literacy, and enablement. His work focuses on driving lasting behavior change and better decision‑making rather than treating generative AI as a traditional technology rollout. He is the founder and leader of DAILY, Zurich’s internal AI special interest group focused on practical AI literacy and enablement, with nearly 1,400 members across the organization.

Jay regularly speaks and facilitates hands‑on workshops for internal teams, brokers, and industry audiences, translating AI from experimentation into practical, repeatable outcomes inside real underwriting and operations environments. His work emphasizes what it actually takes for AI to stick at scale: clarity of intent, trust, governance, and human adoption.
