Grant Beck – Head of Business Optimisation & Innovation, KBA Insurance Repairs

Grant Beck is the Head of Business Optimisation and Innovation at KBA Insurance Repairs, one of Australia’s leading insurance building companies. With over a decade of experience in the insurance industry — working for both panel repairers and major insurers — Grant brings a unique blend of frontline operational insight and strategic innovation.

Originally a qualified builder and insurance assessor, Grant has worked at every level of the claims process. Today, he leads the development of AI and automation solutions at KBA, including Barry, an internal claims triage bot, and KARO, a smart route optimisation tool for assessors. His work focuses on embedding practical, scalable technology that supports people—not replaces them—while enhancing customer outcomes.

Outside of insurance, Grant has served as a part-time, on-call firefighter for over 15 years. He is a qualified fire and explosion investigator and has played key roles in incident management, including frontline deployments during the devastating 2019–2020 Australian wildfires. For his service, he has received medals from the Governor General of Australia and citations from the NSW Premier.

Grant is also a previous Insurtech Australia speaker, 2019 Young Entrepreneur of the Year runner-up, and a passionate advocate for building connected ecosystems that empower frontline teams through smart, human-centred technology.
