Gio Smyth

Gio leads WTW’s Insurance Consulting and Technology (ICT) business in North and Latin America, where he delivers services and solutions that empower insurers to effectively manage risk, optimize capital, and improve business performance.

Prior to joining WTW, he led data, analytics, and reporting organizations for Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company’s Property & Casualty division. Prior to that, he held both technical and leadership roles in the firm’s Enterprise Risk & Capital Management organization, leadership roles in both corporate and business unit finance, and served in operations roles across the Life & Financial Services and Property & Casualty businesses.

Gio is passionate about bridging the gap and deepening connections between technical and operational functions across the entire insurance value chain, including distribution, underwriting, pricing, reserving, capital modeling and investments—and his extensive experience as a client-side buyer of consulting services and technology further enriches his ability to deliver impactful solutions that create a lasting competitive advantage for his clients. 

Giovanni holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from The Ohio State University.
