Garrett Koehn

Garrett Koehn is a Venture Partner at Equal Ventures and a Senior Advisor at MGT Insurance. Over three decades in commercial insurance, he helped build CRC Group into one of the world's largest wholesale insurance brokerages, serving as President of Brokerage, overseeing more than $13 billion in annual premiums, and as Chief Innovation Officer and President of ExecPro.

He has been a partner and senior management equity holder in five insurance private equity transactions, including Tri-City Brokerage, Bisys, Crump, CRC Group, and TIH.

He is an active venture investor and advisor across fintech and InsurTech: General Partner at IA Seed Ventures, strategic advisor to high-growth companies including Newfront and Nirvana, and a mentor to startups through Lloyd's Lab in London, BrokerTech Ventures, and Brown University's Innovation Lab.

A pioneer in risk modeling, he developed the industry's first D&O liability exposure model for public companies at Marsh in 1994 and a year later placed some of the earliest cyber coverage for digital pioneers like Yahoo, eBay, and Excite. He holds a joint MBA from Brown University and IE Business School and a Fintech Certificate from MIT.
