Galya Appell

Galya Appell is a Portfolio Operations Advisor at Kain Capital, the investment fund that is managing more than $500M of equity investments into the US Healthcare Services and Healthcare Technology companies.

At Kain Galya partners with portfolio companies and their leadership teams to support operating components of value creation, including technology-enabled transformations, systems deployment, data solutions development and implementation, sales & marketing optimization, operational integrations, and other critical initiatives.

Over the course of her career, Galya has led a diverse set of transformation and corporate development initiatives: multiple value accretive mergers and acquisitions (M&A) transactions, rapid operational transformations in the take-private situations, and numerous digital transformation programs delivering meaningful cost savings and enterprise-wide synergies for her clients.

Prior to Kain Capital, Galya was a Managing Director at Portage Point Partners, working closely with leading middle market investors and lenders to define and execute value creation and value recovery plans for their portfolio companies. Galya served as Senior Vice President of Strategy and Innovation at AmeriLife, where she led several critical value-unlocking initiatives and helped prepare the company for a successful capital raise. Before AmeriLife, Galya was a Partner at the Boston Consulting Group, where she advised Fortune 500 companies, private enterprises and principal investors across financial institutions, business services, consumer and retail sectors. Galya began her career as an investment professional in a private equity fund focused on growth capital transactions in emerging markets across Europe, the Middle East, Africa (EMEA) and Latin America.

Galya holds a Master of Business Administration from Columbia Business School and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the State University, Higher School of Economics (HSE) in Moscow, Russia.
