Speaker, Writer, "Nerd?!" As a hopelessly enthusiastic insurance professional, Franklin amplifies Global Insurance Strategy at the "OG" data and AI company, SAS Institute, Inc. He unapologetically provokes and inspires the global insurance community to dream big and imagine a future where every company is an AI company.​

Prior to joining SAS in July 2022, Franklin held a variety of individual contributor and people leader roles in the industry. He began his career as an Associate Agent for Allstate in Boone, NC. In 2005, he started his underwriting journey at Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company. For 17 years at Nationwide, he managed personal lines and commercial lines underwriters, portfolio analysts, sales support teams and sales managers. Additionally, he supported staff operations providing thought leadership, strategy and content for sales executive offices. ​

Franklin is a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriting (CPCU) with bachelors’ degrees in Finance & Banking, Risk & Insurance and French from Appalachian State University. He serves as Board Chair for the Women’s Center of Wake County. In his spare time, he tries to keep up with his wife and 3 sons. Ask him about karaoke. ​
