Fazilya Abdulkafarova, ALMI, ACS, is the Executive Director of Underwriting Research and Development at RGA, where she is part of the Strategic Underwriting Initiatives team. With over a decade of experience in individual life insurance underwriting, Fazilya’s background spans production underwriting, accelerated underwriting program design, research and development, and advanced data analytics.

In her current role, Fazilya focuses on investigating and developing underwriting innovations. She leads efforts in concept development, research, and strategic validation of new ideas, helping to modernize underwriting practices and improve risk assessment through the integration of emerging data sources and technologies.

Fazilya is known for bringing deep technical expertise with a forward-looking mindset, aligning underwriting strategy with evolving industry needs. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family including her husband and two fur babies and cheering on her favorite Philadelphia sports teams.
