Brian Poppe is Senior Vice President of Life Insurance Solutions at Mutual of Omaha. He provides strategic direction, drives growth and profitability, balances risk with return, and oversees the comprehensive customer experience for Life Insurance Solutions within the Retail Solutions strategic business unit.

Poppe joined Mutual in 2009 and has served in a variety of actuarial roles on both the product side as well as the corporate side, including starting the innovation practice at Mutual. He has effectively led the Departing Well strategic business unit and has held prominent roles, including Chief Data Officer, Senior Vice President of Technology Modernization, Vice President of Innovation Strategy, and Vice President of Enterprise Risk Management. Before coming to Mutual, Poppe was a Senior Actuarial Assistant at the Lincoln Financial Group. 

Poppe earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) and has achieved the distinguished Fellow and Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst designations from the Society of Actuaries.

Poppe is a regular speaker and presenter at insurance conferences across the US. He actively contributes to his alma mater as the chair for the Raikes School at UNL and has served in the same capacity for the Young Alumni Board for the College of Business. Additionally, Poppe recently served as the long-running Executive Sponsor of the Emerging Leaders Network at Mutual.
