Is AI LATAM’s ‘leapfrog’ moment? What China did for payments, LATAM can do with insurance
China never built a credit card economy, it jumped straight to digital wallets, and today it runs the most advanced consumer payments system in the world.Latin America has low insurance penetration, thin distribution and almost no legacy infrastructure to protect, which sounds like a problem but is actually the setup for a leapfrog. This session makes the case that the region skips the broker-and-paper era entirely and goes straight to AI underwriting and embedded distribution, the same way it skipped credit cards for wallets.
