As a matter of fact, ITC President Nicole Peck was in Las Vegas a couple of weeks ago trying to enjoy the 118 degree weather as she met with key partners for the event. This year will be a bit more walking than usual and we are encouraging all to wear smart footwear. We’ve even set up a fun steps challenge with Optimity. The top three steppers will receive a free pass to ITC 2025!

THINGS THAT ARE INSPIRING ME
ITC President Nicole Peck shares what's on her radar this month - from business to pop culture, branding to industry trends.
1. I think I have discussed security and failures thereof, in-person and cyber, more in the last two weeks than ever before. Last week we witnessed, what may go down, as the biggest IT outage in history. More than 3,000 flights were cancelled within the continental US alone on the first day with thousands more added over the weekend. Within minutes of the event happening, my city, NYC, sent a text message on the emergency communication line that due to a Microsoft outage, there were disruptions on mass transit and at the airports. As we learned shortly thereafter, the issue was caused by a patch deployed by Crowdstrike, however, not before Microsoft’s reputation was severely tarnished. We will be studying this for days and weeks to come.
Although ITC Vegas has been addressing cyber security for several years, this year, more than ever, we recognize the crucial need for agile cyber policies. Recent events have underscored the importance of having comprehensive cyber coverage to mitigate potential losses. We are excited to announce that this year's lineup includes esteemed speakers from: Corvus, Cowbell Cyber Coalition, Cyberwrite, CRC Insurance Services, Navacord, Mosaic Insurance and Aon. They will discuss the broad spectrum of cyber threats and their significant impact on the bottom line.
It was also last week, when we learned that a federal judge ok’d charges against Solarwinds and its CISO; an interesting story that I have been following for the last four years.
2. On the lighter side, many of you know, I am a proud GenXer and have found myself of late reminiscing on the great movies and musical acts of my childhood. Perhaps, it is because my 50th is right around the corner and/or because I have decided that our official Closing Night Party featuring Boyz II Men will, in fact, be my defacto 50th birthday party. Also, quite possible that I find myself educating and assigning must-watch movies to my younger colleagues. Some of my favorites (that I have forced my son to watch with me), in no particular order: Jaws, Shawshank Redemption, Goonies, Tommy Boy, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Hoosiers, Rudy and E.T – it’s possible I still cry when E.T. “dies.” I would love to hear some of yours.
