Tom Powell is the CEO and co-founder of Bondaval, a London-based insurtech changing the way that enterprises secure their credit risk exposure. Since founding Bondaval in 2020, Tom and his co-founder Sam Damoussi have grown the company to operate across 15 different geographies on behalf of some of the largest companies in the world. Tom has an extensive background in commercial leadership across insurance and technology investment. Previously operating as the commercial head of UK, Ireland and the USA for CBL Insurance, he grew and managed a P&L consisting of 18 live programs, producing £120m in annual gross written premium with industry-leading loss ratios. Following that, he worked as a Principal investor at Passion Capital, a seed investment fund backing early-stage teams with stand-out founders. Prior his work in finance and technology, Tom played professional sport, representing England in the national Rugby Sevens team in 43 World Series tournaments, 3 European Championships, and 2 Commonwealth Games, including as captain.
