Souleymane Gning is the founder of Assuraf (assuraf.com), the first Senegalese InsurTech created in 2019 and based in Dakar. He is a Telecoms engineer by training with more than 18 years of experience in large technological multinationals and with telecom operators, equipment manufacturers and suppliers of mobile and digital products and services in Sub-Saharan Africa. Through his tenures he grew the firmly rooted conviction that the Internet is a crucial lever for the development of the continent; by solving many challenges and impacting positively people’s lives. He holds a double MBA from Darden (University of Virginia in the USA) and from HEC Paris where he also obtained a certificate in Digital Innovation. He is also the founder of eConnect Consulting, an international firm specializing in Tech and Digital. The insurance value chain is facing strategic challenges and necessary choices in response to the rapid evolution and enormous changes in the industry with Tech. Assuraf is shaping the (digital) experience of policyholders, carriers and the emerging ecosystem of partners in Africa.
