Mindi E. Work is senior vice president and chief of strategy for Symetra Financial Corporation and its insurance subsidiaries. She leads the company’s Strategy Office, with oversight for the corporate strategic planning process, including the development, design and business execution of strategic programs that drive Symetra’s efforts to be a more customer-centric business. Mindi also heads the IT teams responsible for emerging opportunities, experiences, new lines of business, and technologies. Under Mindi’s leadership, Symetra developed and brought to market in just nine months SwiftTerm®, a new term life insurance platform with an end-to-end digital process that takes qualified customers from application to coverage in 25 minutes or less. Launched in June 2021, SwiftTerm has been recognized with a Celent Model Insurer Award, winning in the Innovation Execution category, and a Gartner Eye on Innovation Award for Financial Services. Mindi has held various leadership positions within her 16 years at Symetra.
