For over 25 years, Tom has been driving successful, high-impact technology innovation across Australia, USA and UK. Tom is a technology polymath with a mission to deliver customer value through innovation and engineering excellence. As CTO at Nearmap, he is responsible for the development of world-leading aerial imaging systems, the largest photogrammetric and aerial imagery AI processing pipelines outside Big Four tech, as well as productization of Nearmap’s Petabyte-scale datasets through key industry solutions. Prior to Nearmap, Tom had led early efforts on machine learning for management of energy in commercial building, brought wireless music into millions of homes, and engineered infotainment software for Aston Martin vehicles, to name a few. Tom holds a BSc in Computer Science, BEng in Systems Engineering, and a PhD in Sensory Systems for Robotics, all from the Australian National University.
