Craig Schedler currently serves as the Managing Director of Northwestern Mutual Future Ventures, the venture capital arm of Northwestern Mutual. Craig is responsible for managing the company’s venture capital investments in financial technology, digital health, data analytics and client experience. Craig’s investment experience includes investments in leading fintech companies including Betterment, Chime, Paceline and Gabi (acquired by Experian). He currently serves as a board member or board observer for several portfolio companies including Splash Financial, Paceline and UNest. Craig also serves on multiple senior leadership committees focused on strategy and innovation across Northwestern Mutual. Additionally, Craig was instrumental in creating the Northwestern Mutual Black Founder Accelerator which is focused on increasing access to venture capital for Black founders. Previously, Craig was a Senior Director in the Corporate Strategy function at Northwestern Mutual. His team provided analysis on current competitive threats and opportunities and how the strategic actions of those competitors affect Northwestern Mutual. Prior to joining Northwestern Mutual, Craig was a member of the healthcare investment banking team at B.C. Ziegler and Company. His work there focused on advising healthcare systems and other healthcare providers on merger and acquisition and capital markets transactions. Craig has an MBA in Finance and Accounting from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a BBA in Accounting from the University of Wisconsin – Madison.
