Barbara Wagner is Head of Strategy at Zurich North America. Zurich is a leading global insurance carrier, with a strong Commercial Insurance footprint in the US. In her role, Barbara focuses on strategy execution and innovation, including advancing Zurich’s sustainability strategy. Barbara recently moved to Chicago from Switzerland, where she worked at Zurich’s global HQ for 13 years. She started out in Internal Consulting, working across a breadth of strategic and operational projects in multiple countries. From there, she joined Zurich’s Group Strategy department, focusing on advancing the global customer strategy and building out Zurich’s innovation approach. Barbara spent the last couple of years in business development to build/partner/acquire new capabilities in the field of customer & data insights, digital partnerships and B2B2C propositions. Prior to Zurich Insurance, Barbara worked at McKinsey and at Dalberg Global Development Advisors. She holds a master’s degree in international business administration from the University of Vienna, Austria (her home country), and an MSC in Economics from the Barcelona Graduate School of Economics, Spain.
