Anthony Segal-Knowles is a Director in the Financial Institutions Group, currently based in New York. Anthony’s focus areas in the team include insurance broking, distribution and insurtech. Anthony joined Lazard in London in 2021 from HM Treasury. At the Treasury he led the central team on public spending for nearly four years and developed and executed Spending Review 2020 and Spending Round 2019 for the Chancellor of the Exchequer and Chief Secretary to the Treasury. Prior to that, he served as Advisor to the U.K.'s Executive Director at the International Monetary Fund in Washington D.C. from 2014 to 2017. He previously served in a variety of roles in the Treasury, including as Private Secretary to the Financial Secretary and Exchequer Secretary, and was seconded from the government to BP plc. Anthony holds a Master's in Public Affairs (Economics and Public Policy) from the School of Public and International Affairs, Princeton University, and a B.A. in History and Modern Languages (Russian) from the University of Oxford. He is also an alum of the U.K. Government's Senior Leaders Scheme and a member of the Next Bretton Woods Group
