Alex is an early stage investor with Distributed Ventures where he is responsible for sourcing new investments, working with portfolio companies and supporting fund operations. He has been dedicated to Insurtech vertical since he joined the Distributed Ventures team, providing hands-on support on new and existing insurtech investments, participating in major conferences and conducting deep dives across the value-chain. Alex has over 5 years of financial industry experience and was previously at a family office, where he helped the firm transition to a venture fund. Prior to that, Alex was on the Consumer and Business Services team at Deutsche Bank, working on M&A and financing transactions globally. Alex has a Bachelors Degree in Industrial Engineering and Economics from both Columbia University and Claremont McKenna College, respectively. Originally from Brazil, Alex has a global prospective and is passionate about diving deeply into innovation and growth opportunity in established industries.
