As Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Liberty Mutual Global Risk Solutions, Sue is focused on delivering the full breadth of Liberty’s suite of capabilities across commercial, specialty, reinsurance and personal (Asia-Pacific) to help partners around the globe solve their evolving risk needs. Her team is accountable for underwriting support, financial operations services, process and workforce initiatives, and data and technology solutions that create exceptional customer and broker experiences.

Prior to joining Liberty Mutual, Sue held numerous roles at Travelers, most recently as Senior Vice President of Global Operations, where she led a dynamic, passionate team of nearly 6,000 colleagues across all business segments. She also served as Business Insurance Managing Controller, Personal Insurance Billing & Receivables Management, Residual Market Underwriting & Operations, Claim First Notice of Loss, and Business Insurance Operations VP.

Sue is a strong advocate for diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I). She is a co-executive sponsor for Amigos, Liberty Mutual’s employee resource group for Hispanic and Latino employees and allies. She previously served as the Executive Sponsor for Black African American & Allies Diversity Network at Travelers and was an active member of several employee resource groups there.

She is passionate about mentorship and talent development and building an environment where people can bring their authentic selves to work.  Her greatest strengths lie at the intersection of strategy, execution and building teams by leveraging her experience in technology and data to drive innovation and differentiated business outcomes.

Sue holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Central Connecticut State University and a Business Analytics Certificate from Harvard Business School.
