Matthew Murphy
Matthew C. Murphy is a Vice President at The Hartford Financial Services.
In his current position, he is responsible for the oversight of the Hartford’s SIU Anti-Fraud Programs focusing on Claims & Underwriting external fraud risk exposures. Matt joined The Hartford in early 2013 charged with the responsibility design & enhance the Hartford’s Fraud perimeter holding oversight of SIU Operations, along with The Hartford’s Medical Bill Processing & Clinical Programs, and Claims Strategic Data Analytics Operations. Prior to joining The Hartford, Matt spent 23 years at The Travelers Insurance Companies where he held various leadership positions within their Investigative Services Division, leading operations including Cyber Risk, Medical Fraud Major Case, SIU Anti-Fraud Field Operations & Fire Investigations.
Matt holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Marist College, and a CFLS designation from the American Educational Institute. He also currently serves as Chair of the National Insurance Crime Bureau’s Board of Directors, previously holding the positions of Vice Chair, Chair of NICB’s Audit & Membership Committees. Matt is also an active member of the Coalition Against Insurance Fraud’s Board, the ISO Claims Council & SIU Directors Committee.
