Cindy Hathaway is the Director of Corporate Affairs in the Financial section of the Colorado Division of Insurance (Division). Cindy’s responsibilities encompass all aspects of company licensing, premium tax collection, surplus lines, accredited reinsurers, risk retention groups, regional home office qualification, and other risk bearing entities, such as government pools. Cindy began her tenure at the Division in the Rates and Forms section. She has been at the Division for over 21 years and Cindy remains dedicated to the mission of consumer protection.

Cindy has been a contributing member on the National Treatment and Coordination (E) Working Group at the National Association of Insurance Commissioners for over 17 years, developing company licensing standards among all states. Prior to working with the Division, Cindy worked in the insurance industry ensuring compliance with Colorado laws.  

Cindy has a Master of Arts degree in Education from the University of Denver. She also graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
