Chris Schlehuber serves as OpenRoad’s Chief Operating Officer and brings two decades of automotive and insurance expertise to their executive leadership team. In his role, Chris is responsible for leading operations as well as client servicing and technology. His strategic vision, commitment to exceptional client experiences, and passion for innovation are invaluable to the organization and critical to the company’s operational successes. 

Prior to joining OpenRoad, Chris spent 20 years at Hagerty where he served in several key leadership positions. In his most recent role as Senior Vice President of Member Service, he led the sales and servicing operations for the organization. Under his leadership, the company was able to streamline numerous aspects of their member experiences and significantly improve the ease of business for their customers. During his time at Hagerty, he also served as Vice President of People and Strategy Operations where he oversaw strategy execution, learning and development, as well as employee experience. Chris also served as Vice President of Underwriting where he spearheaded numerous initiatives to broaden the company’s product offerings, tailoring them to the unique needs of car enthusiasts. Chris holds a Bachelor of business Administration in Finance from Grand Valley State University.
