Cathy Lanning
Cathy Lanning is a Managing Director, Industry Business Consulting, with the financial services team at Salesforce. In this role, Lanning serves as a trusted advisor and partner to help key clients build vision and strategy for customer-centricity, personalization, experience, automation, and efficiency across the value chain. With P&L experience, she understands the continual balance of growth and investment, which brings valuable perspective to executives as they build for the future. She also brings decades of experience in marketing strategy, analytics, digital transformation, and data-driven customer engagement.
Prior to Salesforce, Lanning spent 13 years with Nationwide Insurance where she was most recently Senior Vice President, Property & Casualty Marketing, with a key role transforming the go-to-market strategy as the company shifted distribution focus to the independent agency channel. At Nationwide, Lanning drove exponential profitable growth with her leadership of the Strategic Partnerships business unit and established the Marketing Analytics function. Lanning was also a member of the launch team for Nationwide Bank, a Brand Manager at The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company, and began her career as a Product Manager at WorldCom.
Lanning holds a bachelor of science in business administration (marketing), bachelor of science in psychology, and a master’s in business administration, all from The Ohio State University.
