Alexis Cierra Vaughn is a 16-time award-winning insurance expert and the Founder & CEO of Off Course Consulting, a leading strategy consulting firm specializing in Insurtech, insurance, and financial services and Off Course Learning, next-generation insurance education for industry excellence. Off Course operates in the US and Europe, with offices in Atlanta, GA, and Wales, serving clients such as Insurtechs, Fintechs, Carriers, MGAs, Reinsurers, Insurance Agencies, and Brokerages.

With 15 years of experience, as a licensed producer in property & casualty, life & health, and benefits consulting, Alexis is known for her innovative approach to the industry and as the distribution expert. Alexis has a background covering all aspects of distribution such as working with a carrier as a captive agent, independent agent, Big 4 broker, MGA owner with 26 single moms to running distribution & agency marketing for a leading cyber insurtech.

She founded Off Course to broadly impact the industry, providing expertise in areas like distribution, cyber, flood insurance, ESG, Parametric, agency management systems, claims payment systems, group benefits, retirement products, commercial insurance, and digital distribution for MGAs.

Co-founded with her husband Marvin Vaughn, who leads strategy, talent, and operations, the firm supports startups and carriers through the “Startup Executive Roundtable” for executive development, interim/fractional executive consulting, project consulting, innovation lab scaling and development, and more. They also lead Off Course Learning, Off Course Tech, and Off Course Media & Events which produced top insurtech podcasts such as Insurance Sync with Bobbie Shrivastav & Laurel Jordan and Insurance Unplugged with Lisa Wardlaw.

Previously, Alexis was AVP of Agency Marketing at Cowbell Cyber, growing their distribution channel significantly and hosting the Cowbell Factors Podcast. Her career includes roles at Mercer(MMC), Country Financial, and State Farm.

Alexis has received numerous awards and has been featured in notable publications. She is listed among the Women to Watch in InsurTech Globally and Insurance Business America's Elite Women in Insurance, to name a few. She also serves on Insurtech Atlanta and ITC Agents Advisory Boards, as the Chair of APIW Atlanta Network, and is a Lloyd’s Lab Mentor. She is a sought-after speaker and insurance educator at major industry conferences.

As an Adjunct Professor at UCONN, Alexis develops courses to attract new talent to the insurance industry, aiming to make it an appealing career choice for future generations.
